Massage Therapy Bio
I graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Health and Physical Education.
I studied Acupressure, Reflexology, Barefoot Shiatsu, and Zen Shiatsu at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA receiving my certification in March, 1993.
I learned Prenatal, Deep tissue, Swedish, Range of motion and Thai massage therapies as well.
Additionally I studied Chinese Medicine Five Element Theory with traditional Chinese acupuncturists in Berkeley.
To compliment my bodywork training I studied Intuitive Medicine at the Academy of Intuitive Studies in Sausalito, CA receiving a MIM (Master of Intuitive Medicine) in 1996.
I have always felt a draw to healing the body naturally and holistically and so I furthered my studies by becoming an apprentice to herbalist, Catherine Abby Rich in Marin County. I learned to make flower essences, herbal tinctures, salves, vinegars and remedies for various physical and emotional imbalances. Through my experimentation with my massage clients I developed my line of misters that I still use today when I do bodywork.
I customize each massage session to address the particular needs and imbalance that you have that day to help your body improve its ability to heal. By combining different massage modalities with my intuition and energy awareness, I can effectively pinpoint the underpinnings of your stress to relieve tension and create an overall feeling of relaxation and well being. In my 17 years of experience I have worked with people with chronic conditions such as Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Frozen Shoulder, Sciatica, and various work and car accident injuries.
